Friday Night Fun

Euro 775 Artwork size 58 Width x 58 Height x 1.7 Depth cm This is a very intuitive, process-based and responsive ink painting. I had a lot of fun painting it one Friday night, when I was really in the zone. That night after my meal, I had this overwhelming urge to paint. I wasn't sure what I would paint, so I just started by painting a flower shape in pink, on the wet canvas (I do love to paint on a wet surface). Soon it was clear to me that a flower painting this was not going to be! It evolved into a very organic, free sort of an abstract. I love the amazing colours produced with ink! This did take me many, happily absorbed hours, until past midnight, during which time I responded to what was happening on the canvas. After seeing how it looked the next day, once it had dried, I left it for a bit and eventually went back and made some changes a couple times. To me, it looks kind of cosmic meets underwater life.
